Marblight was created to explore how a traditional material like marble can gain a new role in contemporary interiors. Marble has been used for centuries because of its strength, elegance, and natural beauty. Today, smartphones are one of the most used objects in daily life. This project brings these two worlds together: the timeless quality of marble and the interactive nature of digital devices. The design works as a multifunctional object. It can be used as a light source, a phone holder, a decorative element, and an interactive surface. With its translucent marble body, hologram effect, speaker, touch screen, power unit, and mobile application, Marblight creates a connection between material, light, and technology. The project also questions how furniture can become more responsive to daily routines. Instead of being only a static object, Marblight changes atmosphere through light, sound, themes, alarms, and digital controls. At its core, Marblight is about transforming marble from a heavy and traditional material into a smart, atmospheric, and interactive object for modern living spaces.
