Berk Koşar is an architect based in Istanbul, with a Master’s degree in Architecture – Urban Regeneration from Sapienza University of Rome. He is the founder of Spacescaping, an experimental design and research studio incubated at BTM Istanbul.

His work explores how physical, digital, and imagined spaces are shaped through memory, stories, data, and tools. He developed the Spacescaping approach through his master’s thesis, “Nova Urba: Spacescaping through Interactions for Regenerative Urbanism,” supervised by Prof. Mosè Ricci.

Through this thesis, he created Nova Urba, an urban regeneration model that applies the Spacescaping framework to a site in Istanbul. Both the framework and the project were recognized in international competitions: Spacescaping was selected as an Outstanding Project in the C40 Youth Vision for Green and Thriving Neighbourhoods Challenge, and Nova Urba received an Honourable Mention in the C40 Students Reinventing Cities competition for Istanbul.

His research focuses on climate-adaptive urbanism, regenerative design, participatory co-design, and digital tools for urban regeneration. He works across architecture, BIM, GIS, environmental analysis, spatial storytelling, and AI-assisted design workflows.

Berk completed his bachelor’s degree in Architecture at Istanbul Beykent University, with a minor in Interior Design. He completed his bachelor’s thesis through an Erasmus program at Poznań University of Technology.
